Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) has supported emergency funding to help Americans affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The supplemental aid package provides nearly $8 billion in emergency funding for FEMA and the Small Business Administration to help residents and businesses hurt by Harvey. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill 419-3 on Wednesday, and the Senate is expected to follow suit quickly.

"Tragically, last year West Virginia experienced widespread, historic flooding that cost dozens of lives and hundreds of millions of dollars. Just as others helped us during those difficult times, we will help them. West Virginia stands in solidarity with the people of Texas and Louisiana and knows they will rebuild, just as we are doing. We also send our thoughts and prayers to Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands as they prepare for Hurricane Irma," Rep. Jenkins said.
