Pelosi Statement on Tax Policy Center Analysis of Ryan-McConnell Tax Framework

Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the Tax Policy Center released a preliminary analysis of the Ryan-McConnell Tax Framework:

"Today's searing Tax Policy Center analysis confirms that the Ryan-McConnell framework is a monumental giveaway to the wealthiest at the expense of hard-working middle class Americans.

"Middle class families could even find themselves paying hundreds of dollars more in taxes, while Republicans hand hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax cuts to the wealthiest few every year. The Ryan-McConnell plan is not tax reform, it is a shameful assault on the middle class that will add trillions of dollars to the deficit in tax giveaways for the rich.

"Democrats stand with the American people in demanding real job-creating, wage-raising tax reform with not one penny in tax breaks for the wealthiest one percent."
