Labrador Welcomes RSC Support Of His Immigration Bill

Today, the Republican Study Committee (RSC) -- an influential group of more than 150 House Republicans -- announced its support for H.R. 4760, the Securing America's Future Act, an immigration reform bill authored by House Judiciary Committee Immigration and Border Security Subcommittee Chairman Raúl Labrador (R-Idaho), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas), and House Homeland Security Committee Border and Maritime Security Subcommittee Chairwoman Martha McSally (R-Ariz.). Labrador released the following statement:

"I'm glad the RSC recognizes that the Securing America's Future Act is the best and only vehicle for fixing our broken immigration system. President Trump has praised our bill and House Leadership has promised to whip it. Should it become law, it will be one of the most consequential bills of our lifetime."

The Securing America's Future Act bolsters enforcement of existing immigration law, makes important reforms to our legal immigration programs, secures the border, and provides a legislative solution for the current beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

From January 17-19, the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard and The Harris Poll conducted a poll on immigration reform, showing strong support for concepts found in the Securing America's Future Act. According to the poll, 65 percent of Americans support a deal for DACA that ends chain migration, eliminates the Diversity Visa program, and secures the border with a wall.
