Inhofe Statement on President's Infrastructure Proposal

Statement

Date: Feb. 12, 2018
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Infrastructure

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure and member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Technology, issued the following statement praising the release of President Trump's infrastructure proposal.

"Today, President Trump announced a bold infrastructure proposal that will provide additional resources and reform existing programs and processes to transform how we address infrastructure investment. By unlocking the overbearing and duplicative permitting process and aggressively leveraging private and local investment with federal dollars, we can stimulate investment, streamline regulations and invest in rural America while providing jobs and economic opportunity across the country.

"I especially appreciate that the president's plan looks beyond just roads and bridges and includes other needed projects, like waterways, pipelines and broadband. President Trump and his administration have worked closely with Congress to ensure our priorities are included. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with President Trump, the Environment and Public Works Committee, the Commerce Committee and with my colleagues across the aisle on bipartisan infrastructure legislation."
