Location: Washingotn, DC
Issues: Transportation

U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) has organized a meeting with Amtrak officials, Hinton and Summers County leaders, and the Collis P. Huntington Railroad Society about the New River Train.

The meeting, which Rep. Jenkins asked for on a call with Amtrak President and CEO Richard Anderson, will be held on Tuesday morning. Rep. Jenkins organized this meeting and invited West Virginians to participate to help save the New River Train.

"When I spoke with Amtrak President Richard Anderson, I asked him to meet with West Virginians as soon as possible to resolve these issues and save the New River Train. Amtrak has been extremely cooperative and offered me a meeting on Tuesday with West Virginians to work out the logistics and answer any lingering questions. I'm pleased to be able to bring West Virginians together with Amtrak so we can help save this West Virginia tradition, and I am looking forward to what I'm sure will be a very productive meeting," Rep. Jenkins said.
