Banks Statement on U.S. Withdrawal from Iran Nuclear Deal

Press Release

Date: May 8, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, today released the following statement on President Trump's announcement to withdraw the United States from the Iran nuclear deal:

"This was a bad deal for the United States from the start, and Iran has used the windfall from President Obama's deal to fund its regional aggression in the Middle East.

"President Trump understands Ronald Reagan's mantra of "peace through strength' and understands that strength comes from keeping your word. By withdrawing the U.S. from the failed Iran nuclear deal, President Trump is fulfilling a key campaign pledge and sending a clear message to the world that the U.S. will not tolerate deception or flawed agreements."

Congressman Banks appeared on Outnumbered Overtime on Fox News this afternoon to discuss President Trump's decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal. Click here to watch.
