JB Pritzker Reiterates Call for Bruce Rauner to Support the ERA

Today, JB Pritzker once again called on Bruce Rauner to support the Equal Rights Amendment. After holding a press conference with ERA supporters and launching a digital campaign to urge Rauner to stand up for Illinois women, JB Pritzker released the following statement:

"Women and advocates across this state have asked this governor to take a stand on supporting the ERA, and their requests have been met by a deafening silence," said JB Pritzker. "I believe women deserve equality under the law no matter the political consequences, and I believe people across Illinois deserve leaders who understand that equality should not be subjected to the whims of political opportunity. To Bruce Rauner, I have one question: You say you're for equal rights, so just tell us: Are you for the ERA or are you against it? Illinois women deserve to know."
