"PASSED: Today, the House passed my legislation, the Eastern Legacy Extension Act, to extend the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail into Indiana, along the Ohio River.

This bill would extend the current trail approximately 1,200 miles by recognizing the route Meriwether Lewis and William Clark took along the Ohio River as part of their historic expedition from 1804-1806.

The Lewis and Clark expedition is an important part of our Hoosier history, and the route they took along the Ohio River should be celebrated and preserved so future generations can enjoy this scenic trail."
