Congressman Tom Marino issued the following statement upon the announcement that Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy will retire.

Congressman Marino issued the following statement:

"I commend Justice Kennedy for his years of distinguished service. He followed the Constitution closely and provided a keen intellect to the many decisions brought before the high court over his thirty years served. I look forward to hearing more of his insights on constitutional matters as a civilian and wish him the best in all future endeavors.

"Additionally, I look forward to President Trump's nomination to fill this vacancy on the Supreme Court. I believe the President will choose the most qualified candidate who will uphold the Constitution, judge cases justly before the Court, and give deference to the power the Constitution grants in our system of government."
