Renacci Statement on Strengthen Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act

This afternoon, Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH) released the following statement regarding the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act:

"Proud to have supported the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Centrury Act. This legislation reauthorizes the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 and, specifically, improves alignment of classroom instruction with in-demand jobs to promote work-based learning. The bill encourages stronger engagement with employers by ensuring local business leaders are involved in the development of CTE and the performance goals set at the state and local levels. It also streamlines the number of performance measures used to evaluate CTE programs and limits the ability of the Secretary of Education to withhold funds from a state that does not meet certain performance targets."
