JB Pritzker Statement Recognizing Women's Equality Day

Statement

Date: Aug. 26, 2018
Location: Chicago, IL

Today, JB Pritzker released the following statement to recognize Women's Equality Day:

"Today, I want to recognize Women's Equality Day by recommitting to fighting for Illinois women to achieve full equality in our state," said JB Pritzker. "It's not enough for leaders to offer platitudes and then follow them with inaction and inconsistency. For four years, Bruce Rauner has waffled on a woman's right to choose and blocked equal pay for equal work. Time and again, he has failed Illinois women, and I'm running for governor to lead our state down a new path. I will stand with women across Illinois to defend the right to choose, fight for equal pay for equal work and paid family leave, and pass budgets that restore funding for healthcare services for low-income women. The fight for equality is far from over, and Illinois women deserve a governor that will work every day to level the playing field and make real change for families -- I'll be that governor."
