Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) released the following statement on the Westboro Baptist Church demonstrations planned for Friday in Grand Blanc and Flint:

"There is no place for discrimination in our society. The Westboro Baptist Church and their hate speech are not welcome in mid-Michigan. Hate speech against other religions, American soldiers killed in action or the LGBTQ community is wrong and indefensible. Michigan is a diverse state and our people are inclusive and compassionate toward others, the exact opposite of what the Westboro Baptist Church stands for."
