Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) released the following statement praising former Fairfax Detective Bill Woolf for being presented with the Presidential Award and Medal for Extraordinary Efforts to Combat Trafficking in Persons:
"We have been blessed to work with Detective Bill Woolf over the years in combatting human trafficking in our schools and communities and will continue to partner with him and learn from his expertise in battling dangerous traffickers that threaten the lives of young children and some of the most vulnerable in our area. Detective Woolf has been a partner with us throughout our fight against human trafficking since we worked with him on my bill in the state that increased the penalties on gang members who traffic women and children. This year we passed landmark legislation to crackdown on online human trafficking by predators who target our children by reaching into our homes through computers and other devices." said Congresswoman Comstock. "Detective Woolf is a selfless partner in this fight and I look forward to continuing to collaborate on how we can eradicate human trafficking on all fronts in our communities."
"It has truly been an honor to have been able to work alongside Congresswoman Comstock in the fight against human trafficking, she has been a true champion for the cause. I am also humbled to have received this award. The work we do at Just Ask Prevention is driven by a shared vision of a world where all children are free to achieve their full potential without the threat of being trafficked or exploited." -Former Fairfax Detective Bill Woolf, Executive Director, Just Ask Prevention.
