Pensions were eating away Houston's budget and causing taxes to increase throughout HD 129. The pension reform plan signed by Gov. Abbott in 2017 was a step in the right direction. I support taking care of pension obligations to improve Houston's financial health and satisfy the needs of public employees. I will work on strengthening pension reform for all public pensions to ensure that they are funded and financially sound.
