Issue Position: Gun Rights

I support reasonable, responsible, and safe gun ownership. Throughout my years as a police officer, I have learned that Vermonters have a profound respect for firearms, and are also generally very responsible with these firearms. While I do support safe and responsible gun ownership, I also support laws and processes that will keep people safe, and guns out of the wrong hands. We have seen too many lives taken by needless violence, and we can do more to make our society safer. I support thorough background checks and waiting periods for purchasing firearms.
