Today, Congressman Dave Brat congratulated Orange County on making major strides in implementing rural broadband. The Office of Rep. Brat helped Orange County receive a waiver from the FCC allowing them to complete their fiber installation.

"Access to high-speed internet is integral to the future of Virginia's 7th District. Our kids need it for their education. Our businesses need it to stay competitive in the 21st century. Our families need it to access the online marketplace. My staff and I have made a commitment to improve rural access to broadband, and I am happy to report we were able to help secure this important, new FCC waiver for Orange County. This is just the beginning. I look forward to helping other counties in the 7th District find their own unique solutions for obtaining broadband access." said, Rep. Dave Brat.

The Orange County Board of Supervisors thanked Congressman Brat and his team for their help.

"We thank Congressman Brat and his staff for assisting and advocating on behalf of Orange County to successfully obtain the needed waiver from the Federal Communications Commission for us to complete our fiber optics project," said James K. White, Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
