Marino Votes to Fund the Government and Secure our Borders

Statement

Date: Dec. 20, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Marino voted to keep the government open, secure our borders, and provide disaster assistance to those affected by severe weather events across the country.

The continuing resolution passed today provides funding for the federal government until February 8, 2019 and provides $5.7 billion for construction of the border wall.

Congressman Marino issued the following statement:

"Today's vote represents a commitment by House Republicans to fund the government and keep our promise to the American people to secure our nation's southern border by building the wall. Additionally, providing relief to those affected by natural disasters in the West and Southeast is imperative to ensure the indemnity and well-being of those communities.

I urge my colleagues in the Senate to act swiftly in order to stop Democratic attempts to shut down our government over a $5 billion dollar investment in our national security."
