Issue Position

The primary job of the Secretary of State is to help run our elections and ensure compliance with election laws. Michael Adams is the only Secretary of State candidate in either party who has election law experience. He is also the only candidate who has campaigned statewide for a Photo ID law for our state elections.

Only Michael Adams has the qualifications and offers the leadership we need to defeat Heather French Henry (Alison Lundergan Grimes version 2.0), and to start doing his job in office on Day One.

*Unlike our incumbent Secretary of State, Alison Lundergan Grimes, Michael Adams will work with, not against, the White House, where he has relationships that can be beneficial to our state.

*Michael will also be an advocate for his native Western Kentucky. Currently, none of our constitutional officers are from west of I-65.

*Clean up the Secretary of State's office -- no more allegations of misuse of the voter file, political discrimination in hiring, shady no-bid contract deals, or retaliation against whistleblowers -- and no more indictments.

*Increase independence of the State Board of Elections to operate separately rather than under the Secretary of State's thumb.
