Greg Pence Statement on House Passage of President Trump's USMCA Trade Deal

Location: Washington D.C.
Issues: Trade

U.S. Congressman Greg Pence (IN-06) released a statement today following the House passage of President Trump's new North American trade deal, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

"House Democrats have been holding American farmers and manufacturers hostage for over a year by blocking passage of the USMCA to deny the president, and American working families, a victory. Democrats had to score their bogus political point in their impeachment vote before actually getting to work for the American people," said Congressman Pence. "The USMCA will bring billions to our nation and tens of thousands of new jobs for Americans. This is a huge win for American workers, farmers and manufacturers, and it's about time Congress got to the People's work."

Pence joined 159 of his Republican colleagues, led by Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Michael Conaway, this month to urge Speaker Pelosi to immediately put the USMCA on the House floor for a vote.

He again stood up on behalf of American farmers and manufacturers in a letter to Speaker Pelosi with his colleagues on the House Foreign Affairs Committee urging her to put aside the partisan impeachment sham impeding the work of the American people.
