Reps. Ted Budd, Mark Meadows Introduce National Education Security Training Act

Statement

Date: Feb. 6, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Ted Budd (NC-13) released the following statement after introducing the National Education Security Training (NEST) Act with Rep. Mark Meadows (NC-11):

"As mass violence strikes our country's schools, it's important that we take proactive steps to secure our places of learning. At the end of the day, our students and teachers should not have to worry about their safety while they learn and teach. "

"That's why we introduced the National Education Security Training Act. Put simply, this legislation would give veterans and members of law enforcement the opportunity to continue serving our communities by helping protect our schools in exchange for a tax credit. We think this would be mutually beneficial and we're hopeful that my bill gets the support needed to become law."
