Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, today delivered over 500 valentine cards, handmade by mid-Michigan elementary and middle school students, to veterans at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw.

"I am honored to join local elementary students in delivering valentines to mid-Michigan veterans. These valentines' cards are just one way that we can thank veterans and their families for the sacrifices they have made to defend our country. I want to thank children from across the Fifth Congressional District who helped make these thoughtful valentines for our veterans," Congressman Kildee said.

Each year, Congressman Kildee hosts a "Valentines for Veterans" card drive, partnering with local-area schools to honor Michigan veterans. Schools that participated in the Valentines for Veterans card drive this year were Columbiaville Elementary, Dowdall Elementary School, Gates Elementary School, Neithercut Elementary, Genesee Intermediate School District - Marion D. Crouse Instructional Center, Oaktree Elementary School, Reid Elementary School, Edgerton Elementary School, Torrey Hill International School, Columbiaville Elementary School, The Learning Community, Reid Elementary School, Carter Elementary School, Thomson Elementary School, Hill Elementary School, Hamady High School, Hyatt Elementary School, McMonagle Elementary School, Bentley Middle School, Doyle-Ryder Elementary School, Cummings Great Expectations, Goodrich Middle School, Tomek Eastern Elementary, and Lake Fenton Community Schools.
