McKinley Announces $12 Million For Corridor H

Statement

Today, Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E. (R-W.Va.) announced $12,000,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation for a section of Corridor H in Tucker County. This funding will help support the completion of the Corridor H pavement project from Kerens to Parsons, increasing the reliability of our infrastructure and reducing travel times in West Virginia.
"Completion of Corridor H needs to be top priority. In states like West Virginia, this grant funding is especially helpful and important as the difficult mountain terrain creates extra costs of constructing additional infrastructure. These federal funds will further assist with the engineering and design of a critical part of the Corridor H project and will ease the transportation of people and goods across the Appalachia region. I look forward to the economic development both West Virginia and the entire nation will receive once the project is complete," said Rep. McKinley.

Background:

In April, Congressman McKinley sent a letter to Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao in support of the West Virginia Divisions of Highway's application for this funding. Last year, West Virginia received grant funding for Corridor H also.
