The NEA Fund for Children and Public Education (NEA Fund), which supports pro-public education candidates, announced today its recommendation of Eugene DePasquale for Congress in Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District.

"We're proud to recommend Eugene because of his commitment to a strong public education system and record of fighting for the issues that matter to Pennsylvania families," said Pennsylvania State Education Association President Rich Askey. "In the state legislature and as Auditor General, Eugene has done the work to ensure public schools are getting the resources they need and that our children are attending schools where they are safe and healthy. We know Eugene will serve South Central Pennsylvanians well in Congress."

"I am honored to receive the recommendation of NEA Fund," said Eugene DePasquale. "Every child, regardless of background, deserves a quality education. As a member of Congress, I look forward to working with educators, students, and families to continue fighting to ensure a strong public education system in Pennsylvania and across the country."

Election forecasters, including Cook Political Report and Politico, rate this race as a toss-up. Eugene has also been endorsed by Governor Tom Wolf, former Governor Ed Rendell, countless local officials in the district, the League of Conservation Voters, Brady United Against Gun Violence, and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
