Cortez Masto Hosts Call with Nevada Lgbtq Leaders, Urges Trump Administration to Rescind Anti-LGBTQ Policies

Press Release

U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) hosted a phone conversation with LGBTQ leaders from across Nevada to discuss their ongoing efforts to advocate for Nevada's LGBTQ community and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on LGBTQ individuals. During the call, the Senator also highlighted her letters urging the Trump Administration to rescind their anti-LGBTQ policies in light of the Supreme Court's recent affirmation that federal civil rights protections apply to gay, lesbian and transgender workers.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate the Supreme Court's recent decision with Nevada's LGBTQ community and to applaud the tireless work these leaders do every day to uplift LGBTQ individuals across Nevada. We owe it to these brave individuals to pass the Equality Act and reverse this Administration's harmful, discriminatory policies that keep gay, lesbian and transgender Americans from the equality they deserve."
