Press Release

Date: July 14, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Mark Walker (R-N.C.) has announced the launch of the 2020 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) for North Carolina's Sixth District, an app competition for students in middle and high school.

Officially launched by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015, this nationwide effort allows students to compete against their peers by creating an application for desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, raspberry Pi or other devices.

The submission portal is now open. Students are encouraged to register online by September 10, 2020 before submitting their app by October 19, 2020. The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges drawn from the district. Their apps are eligible to be featured on display in the U.S. Capitol, on the official U.S. House of Representatives website and on the Congressional App Challenge website.
