Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed Russell Vought as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Vought was previously OMB's Deputy Director and has been serving as the agency's Acting Director since January 2019. In these roles, Hoeven has worked with Vought to advance comprehensive flood protection for the Red River Valley, among other priorities for North Dakota. This includes securing his support for the renegotiated Project Partnership Agreement (PPA) with an increased federal commitment of $750 million.

"With more than two years of experience at OMB, as well as a long career working in Congress, Russ Vought is well-prepared to officially serve in the role of Director," said Hoeven. "We look forward to continuing our work with him to advance North Dakota's priorities with the administration."
