Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded $2,992,568 to the Turtle Mountain Housing Authority in Belcourt. Today's grant comes from the Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) Imminent Threat funding made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will be used to construct modular housing units in the community in response to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

"As Turtle Mountain continues responding to the COVID-19 public health emergency, today's funding from the CARES Act will provide resources and support the tribes' efforts to provide housing and shelter for families and individuals," said Hoeven.
