Congresswoman Miller Announces Grant for Heart and Vascular Disease Research

Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) today announced a grant worth $444,000 from the Department of Health and Human Services to Marshall University in Huntington. The award will be used to advance heart and vascular disease research.

"The research that is performed at our institutions of higher learning play a key role in moving our world forward," said Congresswoman Miller. "I am proud of all that Marshall University has done to advance medical research and am looking forward to see what they can discover with this additional funding."

The grant will fund the Role of Adipocyte Na/K-ATPase Signaling in the Development and Progression of Uremic Cardiomyopathy By Altering Adipocyte Phenotype program.
