Statement

Date: Oct. 1, 2020

U.S. House Assistant Speaker Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) issued the following statement on the House passage of the bipartisan America's Conservation Enhancement Act to bolster wildlife and habitat conservation programs, which now heads to the president to be signed:

"From the Middle Rio Grande Valley to the High Plains, New Mexico is home to unique wildlife that sets our state apart. I was proud to support this bipartisan legislation to protect our wildlife and wildlife habitats, tackle the issue of invasive species, and provide grants to states and Tribal nations to compensate livestock producers for losses due to predation," said Assistant Speaker Luján. "I look forward to this legislation making a real, tangible impact on protecting wildlife across New Mexico."
