Location: Washington, DC

WASHINGTON, DC -- Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) on Friday announced USDA Rural Development grants totaling $258,393 to expand facilities for the sale of homegrown renewable fuels in Allamakee, Delaware and Jones counties.

The grants will help four fuel stations upgrade equipment for the storage and sale of E15 ethanol, leading to an expected increase of more than 1 million gallons of ethanol sold per year.

The grant recipients and awards are as follows:

Expresso of Lansing, Inc in Allamakee County: $55,000 grant as part of a $160,000 project to replace two fuel dispensers and a storage tank.
Three Rivers FS Co. in Delaware County: $45,000 grant as part of a $90,000 project to replace three fuel dispensers at two stations.
Sundstop II, LLC, in Jones County: $158,393 grant as part of a $316,786 project to replace four fuel dispensers and one storage tank.
"These investments will expand access to higher blends of American-made renewable fuel," Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer said. "That's a win for our farmers and producers, small businesses in our communities, and Iowa motorists who will have more access to cleaner home-grown fuel."

In April, Finkenauer introduced the bipartisan Clean Fuels Deployment Act of 2020 with Reps. Angie Craig (D-MN), Don Bacon (R-NE) and Roger Marshall (R-KS). The legislation authorizes $600 million over six years to help retailers offer higher ethanol blends, expand the geographic area selling ethanol blends, support biodiesel, bioheat, and sustainable aviation fuel markets, and accelerate the deployment of fueling infrastructure.
