Issue Position: Funding for Our Military

Date: Jan. 1, 2020

In 2020 Bert Reeves brought $2.25 million in state funds to COBB COUNTY to support its MILITARY and VETERANS!!

Bert secured 2.25 million for Cobb County to partner with Chattahoochee Technical College to open a Veterans Education and Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR). Bert worked hard through the legislative 2020 session, overcoming multiple obstacles, to finalize appropriations for Cobb County. The program will coincide with the Cobb Chamber of Commerce's plan to start a veterans program that will work hand in hand in assisting our community's active military in acquiring licensing and certifications to be able to transition their skill sets from the military to the private sector without skipping a beat. Warner Robbins currently has the only other VECTR program in Georgia; this program has demonstrated great success and the implementation of it in Cobb County will be a great benefit to our military and all those who support Dobbins AFB. HB 793 - Budget for 2020-2021 - Line 5354, Bond # 57
