Congresswoman Robin Kelly invites 2nd Congressional District high school students to participate in the 2020 Congressional App Challenge (CAC).
"The Congressional App Challenge is a great opportunity to use healthy competition to inspire our young programmers to reach for even greater heights," said Congresswoman Robin Kelly, co-chair of the House Tech Accountability Caucus. "This fun contest allows me to highlight our local talent and brag about our great winners in front of my colleagues from all over the nation. In past years, Second District students have really led the national contest, and I know they will again in 2020."
Interested students create their own original apps and submit them via the Congressional App Challenge website at https://www.congressionalappchallenge.us/. The winning students from the 2nd District will be honored by Congresswoman Kelly and have their app displayed in the Capitol Building.
Students must make their submissions by October 19, 2020.
Last year's winner of the Congressional App Challenge for the 2nd District of Illinois was David Love of Kankakee High School.
The Congressional App Challenge promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education by recognizing and incentivizing our nation's young programming talent. The CAC is an incredible opportunity for students to learn programming concepts, entrepreneurial lessons and valuable STEM-based skills that lead to professional success.
