U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) issued the following statement in response to the United States surpassing 10 million COVID-19 cases, calling for Senate Republicans to end their obstruction of bipartisan, comprehensive relief legislation that communities urgently need.

"More than 10 million Americans have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and we're seeing record-high surges across the country, including spikes here in New Hampshire. As our communities prepare for a difficult winter, Congress needs to respond to the full scope of this crisis and deliver the relief that health care providers, small business owners, families and all those impacted by the pandemic desperately need," said Shaheen. "The foot-dragging and partisan obstruction is hurting those who need assistance the most. It has to stop. Our country has a lot of healing to do to bridge the rifts that have formed in our society, and especially during these challenging times, that has never been more critical. We wrote the CARES Act together, across party lines and through good-faith negotiations, and I believe we can do it again. We can and must get this done."
