McKinley Applauds Passage of Bill to Improve Transparency, Accountability at the VA

U.S. Representative David B. McKinley, P.E. (R-W.Va.) applauded the House passage of the Improving Safety and Security for Veterans Act, which would require the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide detailed reports on patient safety and quality of care at VA Medical Centers. The bill already passed the Senate and is on the way to President Trump's desk to be signed into law.

"The Improving Safety and Security for Veterans Act is the first step towards helping provide transparency and accountability at our VA medical centers," said Rep McKinley. "This bill will require the VA to submit detailed reports on patient safety and quality of care to Congress. This will provide Congress with a better understanding of what happened in Clarksburg, and how to prevent it from ever happening again."

"Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country and they deserve the best possible care and should feel safe when they come to one of our facilities," added Rep. McKinley.
