Rosen Files Amendments to Support Nevada's Small Businesses and Improve Equity in Access to Health Care Services

This evening, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement announcing she has filed a series of amendments to support health care services and Nevada's small business community:

"As we work to provide relief during this difficult pandemic, we must do everything we can to safeguard the health of Nevadans and the health of our state's economy," said Senator Rosen. "This evening, I filed three amendments to the 2021 Budget Resolution. These amendments will create reserve funds to: 1) ensure equitable access to critical health services -- particularly for underrepresented minorities who lack equal access to vaccines and other health care; 2) support EIDL loans and grants for small businesses; and 3) assist small businesses that are minority-owned or located in rural or underserved communities. I will continue working in Congress to protect the lives and livelihoods of Nevadans."

BACKGROUND: The filed amendments, available here, here, and here would establish:

A deficit-neutral reserve fund for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and EIDL Advance grants,
A deficit-neutral reserve fund to support entrepreneurship and business development for rural and underserved communities, including racial and ethnic minorities,
And, a deficit-neutral reserve fund to ensure equity in access to health care services, vaccine delivery, and health care information for underserved, minority, or otherwise disadvantaged communities in a culturally and linguistically competent manner
