Sinema: Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe Awarded $47,607 for Transportation Safety Improvements

Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema announced that the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe was awarded a total of $47,607 in federal grants that provides funding to improve transportation safety.

"Today's funding strengthens economic opportunities for the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe--creating jobs, improving roads, and expanding access to vital services," said Sinema.

Sinema is a cosponsor of the Tribal Transportation Equity and Transparency Improvement Act--bipartisan legislation that increases flexibility for Tribes in Arizona to utilize transportation funds, while bolstering the transportation and consistency of the Tribal Transportation Program. The Tribal Transportation Program provides safe and adequate transportation and public road access to and within Indian reservations and Indian lands, and intends to contribute to the economic development, self-determination, and employment of Tribal communities.
