Congressman Kim Statement in Support of Samantha Power for USAID Administrator
Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) released the following statement in support of Samantha Power who has been named as the nominee for Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
"Samantha is an incredible leader whose work has inspired me to fight for human rights and justice. I got my start in public service at USAID. I have seen first-hand the power of that agency's work and its ability to make positive change throughout the world. Under Samantha's leadership, I know that USAID will play a critical role in demonstrating the importance of American engagement and will work to make our country proud."
Congressman Kim is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the House Small Business Committee and the House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis. Prior to serving in the House, Congressman Kim worked as a career public servant under both Democrats and Republicans. He served at USAID, the Pentagon, the State Department, the White House National Security Council, and in Afghanistan as an advisor to Generals Petraeus and Allen.
