Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) released the following statement in support of Katherine Tai, who, based on reports, has been named by President-elect Biden as his nominee for the U.S. Trade Representative.

"Katherine brings an expertise to a job that is critical in shaping America's role in our global economy and the impact it has on working families throughout our country. I am especially proud to see a member of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in such a prominent leadership role in the incoming administration. President-elect Biden has sought to put together a Cabinet that reflects the true diversity of America, and AAPI representation is critical to achieving that end. I look forward to working with Katherine once confirmed and working with the Biden Administration to lift up more voices of the APPI community to positions of power."

Congressman Kim is a member of the bipartisan House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis, where he serves as one of twelve members of the House tasked with conducting oversight over programs aimed at ending the Coronavirus pandemic and helping address the economic impact it's having on the American people. Congressman Kim is also a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Small Business.
