Congresswoman Cori Bush Encourages High School Students to Participate in the 2021 Congressional Art Competition

Today, Congresswoman Cori Bush (MO-01) invited high school students in Missouri's First District to submit their original art for the 2021 Congressional Art Competition. The winning student's art will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, while the runners-up will have their works displayed in the Congresswoman's Washington, D.C. and St. Louis offices.

The deadline for students to submit their art for the competition is Friday, April 16th. All participating students and their art teachers will be recognized at a virtual reception this spring. The theme of this year's art contest is "Resistance" -- while submitting themed artwork is encouraged, it is not required.

"The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity for students in the St. Louis area to showcase their artistic talent," said Congresswoman Cori Bush. "Art has long been a tool of resistance and I'm excited to see how the next generation uses artistic expression to speak truth to power."
