Guthrie Announces Barren County Fire Department Grants

Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced federal grants for two volunteer fire departments in Barren County.

Haywood Volunteer Fire Department in Glasgow and Austin Tracy Volunteer Fire Department in Austin have been awarded $106,666 and $20,064 in grant funding, respectively, from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) AFG program.

"More than $125,000 in federal funding I supported is going to Haywood and Austin Tracy Volunteer Fire Departments. Funding from these grants will go towards equipment and resources local firefighters need to protect lives and property in the community. This is great news for Barren County, which is a great area to live and work in thanks in part to the local firefighters' service to keep it safe," said Guthrie.
