Kuster Statement on Rejection of Federal Funds To Support Vaccination Efforts in New Hampshire

Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on the New Hampshire Executive Council's rejection of $27 million in federal funding to support vaccination efforts in the Granite State. New Hampshire currently has the lowest vaccination rate in New England.

"Today's vote is a shameful disservice to the safety of Granite Staters who have worked so hard to protect themselves, their families, and their communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic," said Rep. Kuster. "These federal resources are critical to boosting our sluggish vaccination rate in New Hampshire, and the fact that Republicans on the Executive Council rejected these funds to appease the most extreme elements of their political base is unconscionable and dangerous. Safe, effective vaccines are key to protecting public health and allowing our economy to recover. I will continue working to support efforts in New Hampshire to help us get past this pandemic and ensure no one is left behind as we rebuild."

Rep. Kuster has been a leading voice in Congress since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver critical relief to New Hampshire. A Member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, she helped advance the American Rescue Plan Act to ensure funding was available for Granite State doctors, nurses, businesses, and families.
