Higgins Cosponsors Resolution Striking Down Biden's Vaccine Mandate

Statement

Date: Nov. 17, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) joined Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) and more than 160 House Republican colleagues to introduce a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution formally disapproving of and nullifying President Biden's unconstitutional vaccine mandate for American businesses and workers. A companion bill, backed by all 50 Republican Senators, has also been introduced in the Senate.

The Biden administration recently released details on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) mandating vaccination requirements for employees at private businesses with more than 100 employees. The rule will affect more than 80 million Americans and impose $14,000 fines for persons who do not comply.

Bill text for the Congressional Review Act can be found here.

Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:

"Biden's vaccine mandate is an unconstitutional abuse of executive authority. Patriots in Congress are fighting back… legally, peacefully, and within the parameters of the Constitution. We oppose this government oppression and will continue to challenge the federal vaccine mandate with legislation and in federal courts across America."
