STATEMENT BY CONGRESSMAN DAN KILDEE ON NOVEMBER JOBS REPORT

Statement

Date: Dec. 3, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement after the November jobs report showed that the U.S. unemployment rate fell to 4.2%:

"Today's jobs report shows that America's economic recovery is going strong. Workers' wages are up, unemployment is down, and Michigan families have more money in their pockets this holiday season thanks to the Child Tax Credit passed by Democrats in the American Rescue Plan. Since President Biden took office, we've created 588,000 jobs per month on average, a record for job growth.

"And now, because of the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we are putting more Americans back to work rebuilding roads, repairing bridges and replacing lead pipes. In Congress, I'll keep working to lower everyday costs for Michiganders and support our nation's economic recovery."
