U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 1155, the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. Congresswoman Walorski is a co-sponsor of this bill, which would hold the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) accountable for its human rights atrocities committed against Uyghurs.

"The Chinese Communist Party has committed grievous human rights violations against Uyghurs, and this hostile regime must be held accountable for these atrocities," said Congresswoman Walorski. "The United States cannot in good conscience ignore the CCP's forced labor operation in Xinjiang. Creating new sanctions on these products will begin the process of holding the CCP accountable for the religious-based persecution and human rights violations it has long perpetuated against Uyghurs. Enough is enough, and our work in this mission will continue."
