Congresswoman Bourdeaux Delivers $225 Million For Georgia State Bridges From Infrastructure Law

Today, Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07) announced the first round of investments in repairing Georgia bridges under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, she helped pass. As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Congresswoman Bourdeaux helped deliver $45 million for Georgia to fix bridges this year in FY 2022, part of a total $225 million investment over the next five years. This represents the single largest dedicated bridge investment since the construction of the interstate highway system.

Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux said, "Thanks to our bipartisan infrastructure law, Georgia's bridges are getting a significant investment over the next five years. This funding will help connect our communities, boost the local economy, and improve safety across Georgia. For growing suburbs like mine, this funding will help us address congestion and improve people's daily commutes and mobility. I look forward to continuing to work with Georgia's Department of Transportation and local partners to deliver these funds to Gwinnett and Forsyth Counties."

Background: The investment announced today is designed to help Georgia repair local bridges that are critical for getting to school and work, moving commerce, and connecting communities.
