Today, Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux announced that the state of Georgia will receive $13,631,405 in funding from the Department of Transportation for Appalachian Development Highway System (ADHS). This funding is thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, critical legislation that Congresswoman Bourdeaux fought to secure.
Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux said, "One of the top impediments to economic growth in our communities is transportation. When we invest in our roads and highways we are making it get things where they need to go. This means less time in traffic for your morning commute and for the trucks that move critical goods across the country. I am proud to see the immediate impact BIF is having for Georgia."
Congresswoman Bourdeaux worked extensively to pass the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and joined President Biden at the White House as it was signed into law. Local funding levels are determined by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC).
