Today, Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07) announced that her Lawrencevillve District Office casework team has recovered over $25 million for the small businesses in Georgia's 7th Congressional District.
As a part of the office's expansive constituent services, office representatives work on behalf of local small businesses to secure federal assistance provided by the Small Business Administration and other federal agencies. These include access to the COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program, Paycheck Protection Program, and other SBA-guaranteed loan programs. This federal assistance helps businesses get through difficult economic circumstances, cover payroll costs, and support minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs from underserved areas.
Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux said, "I am extremely proud of the work and assistance accomplished by my team on behalf of the district's small businesses. Beginning our work at the height of a pandemic, our small business community was really hurting. Over this past year, my team and I fought in Congress to extend critical relief, but also assist our entrepreneurs and small business owners directly. There are incredible federal resources available and my team is committed to making them accessible to our district. These businesses make our local community and economy flourish, we must help them through these tough pandemic times and in the long-term."
