Today, Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07) hosted an Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Implementation Roundtable for local stakeholders eager to begin putting new federal dollars to work in their communities. Congresswoman Bourdeaux, who was instrumental in passing the IIJA, is working to ensure Georgia and the 7th District is ready to implement this transformative infrastructure legislation.

"This historic infrastructure bill is putting millions of dollars into the hands of our local communities and offering real transformative change to our transportation infrastructure," said Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux. "In our community transportation is one of the biggest barriers to economic growth and a constant stress to anyone who has to sit on 400 or I-85 every day. I am proud to have played a pivotal role in passing this bill and look forward to seeing the improvements we can make to our communities and how it will position Georgia to lead the country in technology development for the green economy."

The $1.2 trillion bill, which was signed into law on November 15, 2021, includes $660 billion of transportation funding over five years. Congresswoman Bourdeaux welcomed Josh Waller from the Georgia Department of Transportation, John Orr from the Atlanta Regional Commission, and Scott Haggard from the Atlanta Transit Link to discuss their work to implement the funding provided in the bill.
