Cuellar Statement on Russian Invasion into Ukraine

Today, US Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) released the following statement after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops into Ukraine:

"This is the most dire situation in Europe since the end of World War II and President Putin's decision will bring heavy consequences," said Congressman Cuellar. "Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state. As an American, a Texan, and a member of Congress, I stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and their right to self-determination. We must pass the FY2022 Omnibus Appropriations bill in an expeditious manner to continue providing our Ukrainian friends with the necessary financial and military support. I stand ready to assist Chair DeLauro with any additional requests that will provide for the safety and security of US interests abroad."
