Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today released thefollowing statement on the twelfth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

"For 12 years, the Affordable Care Act significantly lowered healthcare costs for individuals, students, families, and seniors throughout Michigan and across the country," said Dingell. "Since its enactment in 2010, a record 31 million Americans gained access through the ACA Marketplace, healthcare costs were cut by an average of $800 per person, and Americans with pre-existing conditions were finally protected from discrimination. Every American has the right to quality affordable healthcare and we must continue working together to build on the progress we have made over the last 12 years. It's not just the morally right thing to do, it's the economically smart thing to do."

Dingell has been a leader in improving healthcare and outcomes for Americans. In Congress, she has been leading the fight for Medicare For All--legislation that would establish a national single-payer universal healthcare system, guaranteeing access to comprehensive care for every American.
